Trust boundaries

APEX operates the market, but ticket ownership, prize-money and true secrecy are protected by cryptography and the Canton ledger.
It starts with your key. When you join, your device creates a signing key that is your account. There is no username, no APEX-hosted password, and the key never leaves your device. It is what proves that a ticket, a prize claim, or a withdrawal is really you.
One key, no password
Signing in with your email creates a key on your device. That key authorises everything that touches your money: buying tickets, revealing them, claiming a prize, withdrawing funds. The platform never holds it and can never sign for you.
A passphrase locks it
The key is encrypted on your device with a passphrase you choose. You enter that passphrase to sign an action. There is no reset, so pick one you will remember. APEX cannot recover this for you.
24 words bring it back
You are shown a 24-word recovery phrase once. It is the only backup of your key. Save it somewhere safe. With it you can restore your account, your balance, and your prizes on any device. APEX cannot recover this for you.
Reveal from your buying device
The recovery phrase brings back your key, but not the secret picks of tickets you have not revealed yet. Those live only on the device you bought them on. Reveal your tickets from that device within the reveal window, or they cannot be scored.

Every ticket, every score, every payout is recorded on Canton. No operator can alter results. Any participant can independently verify the winner.
Sealed commitments
Buying a ticket records only a hash of your sequence, in a platform-private LotteryTicketCommit with no observer. Your numbers stay on your device. While the round is open no one, not even the platform, can see any sequence.
Verifiable scoring
After the reveal window, every revealed ticket is a public LotteryTicketRevealed contract, and the scoring histogram is published on-chain with the result. Any party can read the histogram, check any ticket's Hamming isolation score against it in a single pass, and challenge a wrong winner on-chain.
Winner-controlled claim
The winner claims from the Results page, signing with the key on their device. The prize is delivered as a Canton token transfer to a wallet they choose. The signature is verified on-chain, so the platform cannot forge the claim or redirect the prize.
